Nonument

Nonument, 2016-2017, polymer extrusion.

Nonument is a work that confronts the idea of a statue's basement, bringing up to the surface the political, cultural, symbolical, and aesthetical expectations in regards to public monuments. It's a nonument.

Its optimal size is 2.6 meters - the very minimum monumental scale - and it is intended for public space.
The current form of the work originates from a 3D-printable portrait drawn from the original (and lost) 1.5 meters tall wood and clay structure.
