A compromised landscape of a place that never was, combining Italian coastline navigation maps and the almost-monolithic presences of the skirts of the emancipated women of the Antilles, which patterns and colors were used by Roman landscape painter Agostino Brunias (1730-1796) to hide his crude social observations on the hierarchy of Caribbean society.

These incompiuto landscapes are staged against gridded paper, which reminds me of business charts, my degree in Economics, and how lands, cultures and bodies are transformed into data and analyzed to become resources within a market. Part of a larger series.
